George Kellar

KELLAR, George R. Age 70 of Springboro, Ohio. Jesus called George home on Monday, May 29, 2017. George died peacefully at Sycamore Hospital. He was born in Dayton on August 1, 1946 and attended Colonel White High School and Otterbein College.

George is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marilyn; son, Jeff (Regina), daughter, Lisa; grandchildren, Joel and Megan Kellar; brother, Bob (Carla); sister, Marti Kellar; mother-in-law, Jean Minneman; sister-in-law, Carol (Bob) Ewald; brother-in-law, David Minneman; brother-in-law, Dan (Ginger) Minneman, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death his parents, George and Marjorie.

George was loved by all who knew him- best known for his energy, honesty, humor and strength. George began his career teaching and coaching at Meadowdale High School. He loved that job and had the opportunity to mentor so many students and develop life-long friendships with them. After teaching he worked at Shopsmith and ended his working career at Pierre Frozen Foods. George continued to live a full life in retirement by being involved in the Montgomery County College Scholarship program as a mentor and through service to his church. Throughout his life he lived to help and serve others.

George loved taking vacations with his family and friends; his vacation home at Norris Lake; taking fishing trips with his children and friends in Canada and planning yearly outings with his friends from Otterbein College. He enjoyed doing remodeling projects with is children and attending his grand childrens' school and swimming events. George will be greatly missed by his loving family and by all who had the pleasure to know and work with him. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who have worked with George over the years. He was blessed to have such excellent care.
